TAILLAN
Vin de Pays d’Oc
The vineyards of Languedoc constitute the most extensive wine growing region in the world spread over mountain slopes, hillsides, terraces, plains and coastlines. Vineyards cover more than 50% of the cultivable area of the region’s four departments; Aude, Gard, Hérault and Pyrénees-Orientales. The history of the vine in this area dates back more than 2500 years from the Greek colonization in the 11th century B.C.
Jean Berteau, head of the Taillan Group, is a third generation winemaker, following in the footsteps of both his father and grandfather and known by his colleagues for his relentless drive to make superior wines and his unique commitment to winemaking excellence. His philosophy of giving his full attention to the vine growers, from the care of the soil and the vines, to the oenologists and the vinification and development of the product from the vine to the glass, and understanding the demands of the international market, has resulted in the creation and development of a respectful partnership and dedication of all concerned. Each of the vine growing partners brings his experience and soul to the wines in their constant effort to produce the best wines possible.
