SARRAPOCHIELLO

The Nifo Sarrapochiello Winery, founded in an old farmhouse dating back to 1770, lies in Campania’s heroic Sannio District, a very important historical vine growing area that’s full of art treasures. The winery is located on the Latina Way, an ancient Roman road leading to the town of Benevento, used in ancient times to supply Rome with grapes and wines. The vineyards are located at 200-350 meters above sea level at the base of the Pentime Mountain in the foothills of the massive Apennine range in 12 hectares of fertile grape growing soil. The Nifo Sarrapochiello family cultivates their 12 hectares of vineyards with the traditional growth of varietals such as Aglianico, Pedirosso, Olivella, Falanghina, Coda di Volpe and Greco. In 1998 the winery began growing organic vines with up to date organic wine growing techniques and a willingly limited production.

Lorenzo, who holds a doctorate in agriculture and viticulture, is the third generation winemaker who today carries on the love and respect of nature handed down from fathers to sons in a steady link between tradition and scientific and cultural progress. The final products are of the highest quality, keeping the features peculiar to traditional wine growing.
