TERRE
VALSE
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
“Terre
Valse”, meaning “worthy land” in Latin, is the
name given to the wine produced from the luxuriant vineyards within
the land boundaries of the Frentana village, which lies south-east
of the Apennine mountains near the historic city of Luciano in the
very heart of the Abruzzo wine production region.
The Frentana winery praises itself
for having one of the most efficiently operated wine growing cooperatives
in Abruzzo. Only selected vineyards and wine growers are allowed
to bring their grapes to the Frentana winery. These growers are
assisted throughout the whole grape growing season, right up to
the harvest, by the highly qualified Frentana staff (which includes
an Agronomist and Enologist) in an approach aimed at producing
very specific grape yields considered worthy of wines with the
traditional Frentana standard of quality. The efficient staff
at the Frentana cellars exert great efforts in finishing their
red wines, using different types of wooden barrels and smaller
barriques aimed at producing the Terre Valse Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
D.O.C. and the Rubesto Riserve Montepulciano d’Abruzzo,
rich red wines of great quality and price value as recognized
by all wine experts in that region.
This red wine varietal has an increasing
demand in the international market and the Terre Valse is an excellent
example of the power and finesses that can be extracted from this
delicious grape. It has a luminous ruby red color with a vinous
scent of ripe cherries and fresh bread crust, a vigorous finish
on the palate and gentle fresh tannins. A great complement to
roasted or braised meats, pastas, poultry and cheeses. Serve at
room temperature.
