SAN SAVINO RUBBIO
Rosso Piceno Superiore

In the historical winemaking center of San Savino, in the region of Marche, “Rubbio” is an ancient dialectal term to denote the richness of the red color of this wine. Only specially selected clusters of hand-harvested grapes from the oldest vines are used for this wine. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 200 – 250 meters above sea level, with a southeastern exposure to the sun, overlooking the Adriatic Sea.

This beautiful wine is made of 60% Montepulciano and 40% Sangiovese grapes, harvested between the 15th – 20 th of October. The yield is 6500 kg per hectare. The grapes are macerated on the skins for 10 – 15 days at a controlled temperature not higher than 28 ° C. Racking off and completion of the fermentation is done in stainless steel. The wine is then aged in various barriques for a period of 10 – 15 months, with a further 6 months of aging in the bottle.

“Rubbio” is a full-bodied, well-balanced, beautiful ruby red wine, with an aroma that is intense and persistent, rich in scents of mature red fruits, hazelnuts and chocolate

Compliments roasted red meats, game, and seasoned cheeses. Decant and serve at room temperature.
