NURAGHE
This fine red wine is produced from a combination of native Sardinian
grapes – Cannonau, Muristellu, Pascale, and Nieddu Mannu.
The Nuraghe is a landmark in Sardegna and this wine takes its name
from these grandiose, half-coned shaped, tower-like, stone constructions.
To this day it still holds a mystery as to its exact use or the
origin of the people who built them and lived in them. About seven
thousand of these constructions can still be seen throughout the
entire island of Sardegna, appearing everywhere from along the roadsides
to fields in the country, and confirming the fact that the island
is one of the largest open-air archeological museums in the world.
This beautiful wine is presented in a cork-covered bottle, each
one with a different hand-painted traditional Sardinian picture.
The wine has an intense ruby red color which tends to tinged orange
with age. The aroma is pleasantly characteristic of ripe wild fruit
and dried fruit. It has a unique taste, is well balanced and dry,
with a pleasant finish. An excellent compliment to roasted meats,
game, fowl, chicken and sharp cheeses. Serve at room temperature. |
