VAGNONI
The ancient wine history of the region of Tuscany between Florence
and Siena informs the dynamic modern enthusiasm for great wines.
Located at about 1,000 feet on a ridge just north above a fabled
town of San Gimingnano lies the mountain vineyard of Vagnoni, rising
from 200-300 meters. Here the appellations of white Vernaccia di
San Gimignano, which surrounds the town, and the northern most edge
of red Chianti Colli Senesi, which stretch north from Siena, overlap.
Luigi Vagnoni produces limited quantities of rich, concentrated
hand made wine from low yielding hillside vineyards.
